Philippines, the Best Vacation Spot

Good day everyone! It's been months since I've posted an article here. I've been busy with a lot of stressing things, sorry. But I am here because I've been thinking a lot about what to do when I go to my beloved country - Philippines. Of course before I forget, belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all! It maybe late but it's the thought that counts eh!

Let's all hope 2012 will be a good year for everyone. 2011 wasn't so good but wasn't even bad for me. It's balanced but more of great blessings, check it out at my Baul ni Noel. If you have been there you'll know that I am out of job pretty soon that is why I am thinking of where to go in Manila when I get there.

While surfing the web, Facebook to be particular, I saw videos of "Pilipinas, Tara Na!" and was amazed at how they have packed all the goodness of Philippine tourist spots in their videos. Actually, because of so many things you can see in the Philippines, you have to check out all their videos. One video contains a collection of tourist spots in the Philippines and since it has only a 5 minutes duration, not all the great spots were included but they made a few videos so you won't miss all of them. It is quite fun and enjoyable to watch, just try it

While browsing backup files that I've archived not so long time ago, I browsed into some of my mobile applications that I have used on my Samsung Omnia 2 and found a collection of GPS applications I've used before. GPS means Geographical Positioning System and it deals with maps and satellite connection and of course GPS devices. Now my Omnia 2 has a GPS device built-in on it and it is capable of tracking my position where ever and when ever I want.

Me and my friend tried one of these applications on his IPhone and it really worked so well. He has even tried using it on their long journey before. These days, having a built-in GPS on handset devices and smart mobiles or getting more in demand. Most devices may have their own GPS built-in on it but they have different performances. In my current line of work and my company's line of products which involves maps and GIS applications, GPS devices such as my smart device are quite handy and very useful in testing the integrity of our spatial data or map data.

Saved from a Malicious Stalker!

Once again my life was saved by Microsoft's free antivirus. I was busy browsing the web from Stumbleupon and I probably clicked on a link on some of the sites I've been browsing. Suddenly a window appeared - it is a Microsoft Security Essentials window. It was warning me of a possible threat found on that website and is trying to access my machine.

I remember having this same issue in another machine of mine that is quite old and is still using the Windows XP on it. Once infected with the virus, whenever I go to Facebook, I go to a different site with the same url as the facebook's. Can you believe that?

It's not a joke when you face this same scenario so if ever you have been infected with a virus here is what you should do.

Shutdown your machine.
After a few minutes, turn the machine on again.
Turn on and check for virus using your antivirus software. If you found nothing, there is a possibility that the virus is gone or just sleeping.
Try going to Facebook again or any social sites (this is usually the virus' target url)
If you still encounter the same scenario, then the only solution is to get another antivirus software but since your machine is compromised, back-up your important files and try to remove the hard disk and let other clean machine handle the cleaning.
If it didn't work, I guess formatting your hard drive would be your last option.

For better security and to avoid the above scenario, I suggest purchasing a licensed Windows operating system such as Windows 7, Vista or whatever suits you. Then download the microsoft security essential - it's FREE. Just a warning, if you don't have a genuine copy of windows, you won't be able to install this free antivirus.

Benefits in Smoking. Are there any?

You're probably here because you thought there are great things one can achieve from smoking. Sorry but there are none. I just want to highlight how smokers can stop smoking or at least how they can be responsible smokers and what the damages smoking can bring anyone.

Even at a young age, I disliked smoking already. When I was on my 3rd year high school, I tried smoking but it really brought more dislike feeling for me. It's probably because of the smell and the fact that our lungs hates smoke. Here in Saudi Arabia, more and more people specially the locals, become smokers and not just smokers but chain smokers. Worst thing about their cigars are the smell, it sticks in your clothing and your hair and it made me hate smoking the more.

No offense to smokers, most of them are irresponsible smokers. Why? Because they don't care if the people around them (most of them are 2nd hand smokers) dislike smoking. Most of them just lit their cigars comfortably without a care in the world. To think the second hand smokers gets worst than them. If you have no idea, 2nd hand smokers are more dangerous than the 1st hand simply because the 1st hand smokers have filters on them while the 2nd hand don't have any. Best examples are the pregnant smokers and the other one is smoking in the presence of a child. What the parent don't know is that the child is the one that gets more affected than them. It is a selfish act that don't help but makes things worst specially to world climate change. If you don't believe check it out at Google. At least if they want to smoke, go to a private place where they are the only ones affected.

If you are a chain smoker, there is still hope for a change. The latest technologies brought new products that could help you make it easier to quit smoking. You can use smoke or cigarette patches, nicotine patches or electronic cigarettes. The said products were tested and have already made a lot of people cigarette-free.

Long time ago, I used to be addicted at FB games like Cafe World, Yoville and the most fun and addicting game of all was the FarmVille. I love games and most of the games right now are so sophisticated where you have to be a member first in order to play or install some applications in your PC which by the way I don't recommend because of too much spreading of virus.

Once in a while it is nice to play some classic games or just plain games played online like flash games. The best of technology innovations always come on a tiny package. Take for example, Bose technology of speakers. Bose's technology in making quality speakers is one of the best in the world. Now, a new technology is on the making that emulates smartphone technology right at everyone's fingertip.

The great thing about this new technology is that you can make use of your very own TV via HDMI, laptop or even old PCs with USB to convert it into an Android PC.

FXI's Cotton Candy is a dual-core Android PC on a stick. It may look like a common USB device but inside - a 1.2 Ghz Samsung Exynos ARM CPU, ARM Mali-400 MP quad-core GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro SD card slot for storage, and a HDMI jack on the opposite end (according to theverge's website). The Verge conducted a few test runs already and was able to play Angry Birds on a Mac PC.

It is still under development and will probably out on the market next year with a price less than $200.

Techo Christmas Gift Ideas 2011

Okay, I was browsing through Jarir Bookstores new brochure for a few cool new computer or laptop deals probably hoping and dreaming of something cool to own this coming Christmas. Well, even if I do have the money, I'll probably think more than twice in buying my Christmas gift ideas because of the coming baby but here are a few of the deals I've found that is really reasonable.

1st Choice: HP DV6-6196EX

My first choice is this HP DV6 because of its processor and the size of the dedicated video card. It wasn't stated what brand of video card was packaged but based from HP website, it is a AMD Radeon HD 6770M (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated). It is best to ask the salesperson or better to ask them to show you what is the brand of the graphics card is.

2nd Choice: ASUS A53SV

My second choice was ASUS since it also a whopping 2GB video card and it is NVidia. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't hate AMD Radeon (formerly ATI). It's just that my experience with Radeon is not that good and I just love NVidia more than them. For motherboards, I wouldn't think twice in buying ASUS brand but with laptops (hmm... I am still thinking). Well, I just hope their lack of style on their laptops makes up on its performance. But it is still a good deal.

Foxit Acrobat Reader a Great Alternative

Are you tired of using the usual Adobe Acrobat Reader? or just don't like how their installer keeps tracking Adobe products. Well here is a great alternative and pretty much lighter too. It is a from Foxit Software company. They also have some other products and software that is quite useful for developers too. I'll probably take a look at their products if every I need one for products that we develop.

It is also for FREE so no worries about the cost. They also have readers for different kinds of handsets of different kinds of operating system like Windows Mobile, Android and for Symbian OS (mostly Nokia cellphones.)

I just got an email from Google telling me that they have deactivated my Adsense account for invalid clicks. I've been maintaining its integrity for years and now they have deactivated it. According to their TOS and FAQ about these cases their are NO POSSIBILITIES of ever recovering my account or even apply for a new one. Too bad, I was preparing a new template for my two blog's template for a better Adsense ad placement but now it is gone.

A friend told me that I could try and appeal to Google by calling them but I won't do that since it is not worth the time and long-distance call. The call could probably cost more than the money on that account so why waste time, effort and money - I could probably get denied anyways. I was a bit sad but not that sad, now I know the reason how they get lots of money.

So to Google Adsense --- goodbye! It was educational.

Uncharted 2; Among Thieves

It's been a long time since I've posted again. I've been busy lately with some duties and responsibilities and I am still very busy. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish most of my responsibilites after two more weeks then I can go back to blogging. Bigger Memory for Progress

I've noticed that my desktop PC's performance is really..... making me want to throw it already. I don't have the bucks to buy a new PC so I guess it's the memory that I have to upgrade for now. We are on a very tight budget and I need to finish a project soon. I can't work when I try to open something and something fails and then hangs. I can't multi-task anymore and I don't have time to tweak things.

I guess I have to thank the people who invented the PC and made the parts quite easy to replace. Imagine if you could upgrade your TV as well, it would really be nice to have a personal touch in fixing something. Anyways, when I get my money tomorrow I'll definitely buy me 2 pcs of 2GB DDR2 memories.

My PC's performance is also the reason why I seldom blog now. It's too slow and it is making me lazy. Okay, two-fingers cross and hope I'll receive my salary tomorrow. See you again guys.

I've been reading a lot lately about how you can earn through blogging with affiliate ads, blog reviews and search engine marketing but only a few I've read were quite solid and has proof of the said experience. My approach in my research didn't quite go well since none participated, I anticipated that anyways. It's a good thing I've already made my research from the past and I just want to confirm the latest approach or programs that may add to my research.

In my previous research, the best earning option for a user to earn online is the use of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Blogging on their sites or blogs.

SEO Blogging

Optimizing your site or blog to be more visible to search engines is the best way in earning income. If you are using Google's Adsense and you have executed the best pratices in optimizing your site which means best ad placements, best ad type (picture or text), best ad size and best keywords then you are on the right track already and of course quality content.

This is true. One time one of the niche I've used got a click and was amazed at how much I got for a single click - $2.23, that is cheap compared to sample earnings I've seen from some successful sites. Imagine if you have a hundred of that click a day - $223 in just a single day - Wow!. It is a dream come true for me if ever I am earning that much for a day.

I remembered when I was experimenting with Google Adwords from the free $100 voucher that Google gave me before. I felt excited to see lots of clicks a day and lots of visitors as well. It was well worth of an experience and it was one of the best learning adventures I've ever had.

Right now I can say that I still have lots of things to learn in this nature of business and hobby. However, my progress I can say is a lot better than before. I remember I used to exert a lot of effort just to get Google's attention, I mean the search engine. Now, based on Google Analytics, my blog earned a dramatic increase from search engine traffic (Google) which means my optimization paid off and I am using the right keywords.

SEM Blogging

It's the same as SEO but it is paid. Actually it is derived from SEO so if you compare them it's like Father vs Son.

Just imagin me as SEO and my son is SEM.

Basically, what this means is that people using this technique paid to be inserted on Google's top searches. If you want to know how this works you can try going to gooogle and try to make a search. It is quite easy to spot them, you'll be able to spot their sites on the top of your searches and isolated above others -of course it is related to the site you are browsing.

So why do they do that? First they have the money and second they believe they have a lot to offer, I mean their site or blog has lots to offer. Most blogs/sites paying to be on top of searches already made sure that their sites/blogs are ready for their visitors because if not then it would be a lot of waste for their money. The key here is the right keyword and the best landing page.

SEO or SEM?

So which is better? SEO or SEM? This approach is a case to case basis. There are times that you have to invest in order to attract attention. For example, your keyword is about "money-making website". If you check the Google Traffic Estimator, and you happen to find that it has around a hundred thousand queries each they then it's good but check again cause you may find that there are around millions of people competing or using the same keyword to be on top of Google's list which is a bad news for you. So if you're confident that your site or blog is worth visiting and you are confident of the quality of your blog/site's content and you have the money, then go for SEM. But if you have optimized your site carefully, sometimes a need for investment isn't necessary. Of course earning from nothing is still the best.

Do I need SEO?

If you really want to earn through your blog or site, even if you just started, it is best to optimize your site. Concentrate on your niche and populate it with quality contents of the same niche. By the way, optimizing your site properly can also help you increase your PageRank. So if you like to earn through blog review or product review in your site - use SEO.

The Thundercats are Back!

Do you remember the old Thundercats Cartoons Show? I remember I used to imagine myself as Lion-O and while raising my sword I shout "Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats Ho!". Well, those were my fondest days. I am glad they're back, although I was expecting it to be shown on a 3D movie. Never expected to see it on TV.

Based on the trailer, this Thundercats 2011 cartoon series will start at the beginning, before Mumm-Ra was resurrected, before the team was founded and before Lion-O gets to have the Sword of Omens. Thundercats 2011 is currently shown on Cartoon Network.

Cloud Computing Technology?

Back in year 90's when micro-floppy drive which has a capacity of 1.44 MB of storage was created, I remember I was always carrying a small verbatim box with me. Students thought it was so cool having to carry one. In my case, I used it to carry my ballpens, ID and four spare disks and one that contains all my personal documents like resume and other useful credentials.

Years after, came the USB (Universal Serial Bus) storage disk or what we call Flash Disk. It is very useful and way cooler than having to carry a micro-floppy box. Flash disk comes in various forms like cool keychains, credit card types or even toys. I have one myself which is a keychain that has a capacity of 8GB.

Both technologies have been very useful to me but can you imagine if something went wrong to your device? Like getting it wet or accidentally burn it like what happened to my colleague. He was using his flash drive when suddenly while plugged-in on his computer, his flash disk burned. He doesn’t know how or why it happened but it did happen.

Good thing there is a new technology called cloud computing? This new technology is composed of different computing resources. To make it simple, imagine your resume or your important credentials like scanned diplomas, scanned training certificates, scanned birth certificates and more with just a few clicks, it will be available to you. You don’t have to carry anything with you. Of course you still have to make a print out of your resume when you are applying for a new job but most of your resources will be available via web. There's more to it than meets the eye and since internet is widely used by even small-scaled companies, it will serve a great help for everyone.

Many websites offer this technology for free and with a few bucks you’ll get more storage and some more useful services. The idea is to free us from devices and makes our important documents available whereever we go. And it is way-way cooler than micro-floppies and flash disks.

You can also share family photos to your extended family or dear friends via this technology. It is a great tool for everyone.

There are a lot of commotion after the release of Google+ and people were talking about them with different opinions and reactions. Some reactions are bad and some are good but how will people react about the deletion of private accounts?

My only reaction would be.... is my google profile even priate? I don't remember setting any private setting ever so what is this with private accounts? Probably, this private profiles were only used for sending emails and not accepting any (spammers)? Probably used by people having an affair?

Now, I have to find out if one of my google profile is even on private. I've been trying to check out the settings for "private" but found none. Better find it out before I loose my account. So do you have a private gmail account? is it private?

Just to be sure, just add any close friends in your circle. Check how cool it is to add people in your circle. Wait, I forgot - I haven't activated this email's profile for Google+.

Skype on my Facebook!

What! Skype in your Facebook? You might not believe it at first but it is true. I've checked it just now to confirm and it is so easy to install. By the way, it is also announced on their blog. Facebook is really getting bigger and better and badder (in a positive way). I am still quite shocked to see "Login with Facebook" button in Friendster and now the news of Skype and Facebook -thus the phrase "If you can't beat them, join them!". Don't you just wish you are FB's developer?

With Facebook's continued growth, you'll ask yourself what's next? Well, it would be great if they'd add texting or sms messaging for FREE! But wait, Skype is still on the process of being owned by Microsoft, I wonder what MS would say about this. Well, if it's agreed then maybe it's okay with MS too. So that would make Facebook and Microsoft closer together, I wonder what's next if they merge. What do you think?

The Android Addict!

I've been using my Samsung Omnia i8000 with Windows Mobile 6.5 for over a year now and it's just like a plain basic smartphone now. I only use it to call and play a few games. And since its camera broke down for the third time and the warranty expired already, I grew tired and decided to accept the fact that I lost the camera already.

Samsung Omnia i8000 was already considered a failure and just after 6 months of being launched they just stopped promoting it and went promoting the new ones. It was my first time to buy a smart phone and it sucks whenever I realize its value. I am sour-graping here people and a bit regretful of my decision to buy it. I bought it the same time as my wife's HTC HD2. I thought since it has a dedicated graphics accelerator it will be faster but I was wrong.

Okay, I thought "was that it for my device?" until months ago I've heard of people trying to port Android on Omnia i8000. Yes, they are making the Android available for my dull mobile device. I was so eager to use it but when I read the article it says that there are still a lot of bugs and a lot of features are still not working, so I waited. And I waited.....

I read the news just a week ago that a lot of things were updated and is now working so I checked their forum and found out that it's true. I tried to install it but I became frustrated as to how many times I've failed. Two nights ago, I've decided that it's the last time I'll try and to my amazement - it worked!, I have succeeded.

Now, I am an Android Addict. Lots of Free games! games! games! apps! apps! apps! - I love it! Sorry, I'll have to cut this article short, I'm busy at the Android Market. Oh by the way, Windows sucks! (lol)

Never Stop Trying

Google just had a major update that was so unexpected. A blogger shouted at Facebook yesterday that is why I got aware of it. I remember the happiness I felt when XleonTips was ranked PR1 before and the sadness that I felt when it was taken away from me. BUT nevertheless, it was given back two-folds. It was really unexpected and I was a bit surprised to see the new ranking, probably if I was more active at promoting this blog I would have ranked higher (just thinking deeper).

Heart of Swarm

I just finished playing Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty and all I can say is that Blizzard is really great at developing great games with great storylines. Two other great games from them with great storylines are Diablo and Warcraft. I always feel excited every time I watch the cutscenes whenever I finish a mission. It's like I am watching a movie and playing the role at the same time, the only difference is that you know each detail of the story since you are playing the role. I hope there are other games out there with great storyline. For now, I really have to upgrade my computer in order to catch up on their requirements. This game made a lot of fuzz on my machine - it takes ages to load (why can't they make a good game with less requirements?)

Blizzard just revealed their new expansion pack for Starcraft II and it was entitled Heart of Swarm. After Raynor saved Kerrigan, she was stripped off her Zerg power and was totally naked hmmm... I just had a thought about Raynor and Kerrigan's conversation on the first Starcraft where Raynor was thinking dirty thoughts of Kerrigan. Since Kerrigan is a Ghost operative, she can read minds and she just blurted out - "You Pig!" and Raynor innocently says "What?!" - Oh! I love that scene.

Now, did Kerrigan really came back as a human? I can't wait to play this new game. Too bad, LAN play is'nt supported anymore. It would have been great! (oh! it is great already) It would have been GREATER!

Tech Deals: Budget Gaming Laptop Deals

I was reading Jarir Bookstore's May-June brochure and checked out their current laptop offers and its price tags. I've managed to gather 3 top choices and I'd like to share it to you guys. Maybe you are planning on buying laptops you may check and consider these options. I've decided to review some of the options I find in the market and share it here and hope it helps any of those who are having a hard time picking their new toy.

First Choice:

Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M with CUDA™ Technology

On their brochure it wasn't stated what the graphics card was bundled so I researched the internet for its specification and found out it is bundled with NVIDIA. Best if you ask the sales represetative to confirm it.

Second Choice A:

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card

Again, the bundled graphics card wasn't mentioned in their brochure so be sure to ask the sales representative to confirm it.

Second Choice B:

So far the cheapest of all.

Even if Toshiba Satellite L755-10J was the most expensive of them all, I consider it the best choice since here in Jeddah, Toshiba has a good customer service.

Both Acer and ASUS are my second choice for a reason. ASUS has the best motherboards I've ever used in my Desktop PCs before but I have no experience when it comes to their laptops and don't know where their service centers are here in Saudi Arabia. For Acer, I have tried using Acer before and as far as robustness and stability, I've never encountered any problems at all eventhough I have a laptop with integrated/shared graphics only.

I guess the only thing that can make up your mind is the price or the size of the screens. I have a friend who prefers to use smaller screen and as for me, I like bigger screens because I have a hard time reasing small fonts. Another probable factor in choosing the best laptop would probably be the weight or the best design on it's body.

There is one other big option for you to choose between the second choice instead of my first choice and that is its processor. Toshiba is still using the older i3 processor while both second choices are i5 already which are both fast in processing your favorite applications. This single option can make the three tie with each other. So what will it be? Quality? Price? Design? It is up to you now.

The prices may not be applicable to your place but the specifications will be of great help. Hope this helps you find your new toy.

Saudi Arabia Paypal Accepts Payment Now!

It has been a long time since I have visited my Paypal account. I just felt something weird about it when I saw a Paypal Saudi Arabia advertisement - "What's with Paypal Saudi Arabia if it can't receive payment?" I asked myself. I spoke to soon coz when I logged-in, I saw the Received Money on the menu. I swear it wasn't there before. So what am I so excited about? Well, it can only mean that I can now receive online payments if I am going to have online jobs. Yes, I am planning on having one or two since my company is on a crisis I am going to need a way to earn money somehow.

Currently, I am busy with a project - a self project just to show something to future clients. I'll probably join a group at oDesk or at Freelancer or just go on solo. But whatever I am going to do, this Paypal update is gonna be my mode of payment. So it is a good news for me -great news.

My Classic XBOX

There is a very powerful machine lying around in my storage that is just dusting and waiting to be utilized or disposed. I remember how I used to enjoy playing games on that machine like Halo and Halo 2, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, DOA - Dead or Alive and DOA: Beach Volleyball Version, etc.... It's too bad Bungee didn't make an Classic XBOX version of Halo 3. The reason it is in my storage is because the DVD's laser just got weak and unable to read most of my favorite games and it is hard to find good service centers here in Saudi Arabia.

Well, XBOX is basically a PC that is dedicated for games only and has its own operating system (a Windows Me Xbox edition, I think). Too bad Microsoft isn't making any games for it anymore.

Last month, while I was cleaning the storage, I stumbled upon it and set it up so I could test if it is still working. Most games I had were totally unreadable but I still didn't dump the games coz I am replacing the DVD. I actually tried replacing it but the problem was its DVD is somewhat smaller than any regular DVDs on the market. It's wider so when I tried fitting the drive it didn't budge at all and I was unable to close the case.

So how am I going to make use of it?

I found a great software where I could play videos, play mp3s and play my old games. I am planning on installing it and making use of it as my media player. It is called XBMC. I just hope I'll be able to install it properly. If I succeded in doing so, I'll have an instant player with archiving power.

I'll post an update once I am able to make a progress. I am currently preparing the tools. I'll also make a tutorial for this if I succeded.

Is LAN Gaming Dead?

What was the last game you and your friends have played via LAN? The last game I played a game with my friends was Warcraft: Frozen Throne and we were playing a tower defense map.

Five years ago, I remember that our friends and I used to play LAN games in our places. We setup a network hub/switch and connect and play our games. I remember the games we used to play like Command and Conquer, Red Alert, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, Warcraft: Frozen Throne and we also played some RPG games like Diablo I and Diablo II and for FPS games, we liked the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon because we want to play cooperatively (we don't like Counter-Strike).

We've learned before that most of our favorite games like Starcraft, Command and Conquer and Red Alert have made new series of their games but we are unable to play it because of our busyness and recently we've been free from work because we have less projects than ever. So I grabbed a copy of Red Alert 3, Starcraft 2 and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2.

Unfortunately, we were unable to play the Red Alert 3 for some reason. We've tried checking everything -went to forums and asked other players but they've got the same issues as we are so we decided to try Starcraft 2. Well, it seems Blizzard doesn't want to include LAN play anymore. That's probably the reason most of the original developers decided to leave.

Fortunately, we were able to play Rainbow Six. It was a very nice game but we were able to finish the game so easily now. We were amazed at the new developments on how they made the game so realistic. Like you could shoot through wooden walls, blind-shooting (you know, just like shooting while hiding), enemies looking for a way to pin you or your team down and a lot more. Oh and I love how they rapel from the chopper while being shot at by the terrorist - it's a killer. You can also rapel down a building instead of using the stairs - adding extra coolness to the game.

A friend also introduced a game to us, it is called Civilization V. It is a turn-based game so it is quite slow to play but it was enjoyable and quite addicting. Unlike Red Alert, Warcraft, and Command and Conquer, building your empire doesn't mean just creating a vast army and colonizing other lands. If you do that, you'll end up having civil wars on each city you create or conquer. The happiness of the people is a must in order for your empire to grow. If you hunger your city, they will no longer build what you ask of them and if the neighboring empire has a very influencial city with great happiness on their city - don't be surprised when one of your city decided to join their side. It is also a game of politics and diplomacy with your neighboring countries. You can be friendly with stronger nations and make important trades or demand resources to weaker nations. I just built a great wall in my empire and my empires name is Philippines.

We tried playing the game via LAN but Steam (game's network engine) won't allow us to play with each other. I guess that is the reason PC gaming is on its downfall. In the Philippines, most of the games I see gamers are playing are either MMORPG or Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or DOTA (Warcraft) and Counter Strike (Half Life Mod) and in Korea, add the Starcraft.

How about you? You playing a LAN game? We are open for suggestions. BTW, I am planning to get a copy of LOTR: Battle for Middle-Eart II and just had a copy of Command and Conquer: Generals and CNC: Zero Hour and probably get a copy of Diable 2 -just for old times sake.

Multiple Blogging

It has been quite a while since I blog-hopped. Interesting thing was a few bloggers I knew seems to have more new blogs or blog. Great thing about having multiple blogs is that whenever you feel like blogging about something, you have plenty of places to put your ideas. Let's say you have a blog with comedy and entertainment niche and you happen to want to share some funny thing you encountered that day - of course you can blog it on that niche instead of putting it on your food niche.

Lately, I've been into a lot of challenges and I've been up and down so there's been a lot of things happening in my spiritual / inspirational blog. That is the beauty of having multiple blogs with different niches. It is helpful to stick to one to two niche each blog to raise your PR or pagerank in Google. And if you are into Search Engine Marketing (SEM) or Search Engine Optimization (SEO), you'll find this helpful in building up your site's rank and at the same time raises your site's value. If you have optimized your site/blog then earning money from it will be quite easy.

Supernatural: Animated?

I just watched the episode which I think is the season ender for Season 6 of Supernatural. Stars Jared Padelecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester. Okay, I admit I am a fan of Supernatural. I was just quite shocked to see an anime that is based in this tv series. Wow! So they did make it through japanese's hearts. For all I know, most japanese love supersticious movies and some of the great animes I watched and liked were based on supernatural things such as vampires and witches. The movies that I am talking about are Vampire Hunter D, Witch Hunter Robin, Blood: The Last Vampire, etc.... By the way, these animes are very good and very recommendable to watch.

So the question now is, would this Supernatural anime be a hit like the tv series? or will it succeed in where Supernatural failed to show? Of course we all know because of the writer's strike, most of the tv series budgets have been cut really hard which affected most of the tv series' ratings.

I know I've been silent and I am very sorry about it. My current issue is that I am sick. I am still sick now but for the past period I've been away, GUILTY! I am pretty lazy to do anything those times now I really have to report up and catch up.

Facebook's Annoying Splash Page

Are you an FB Fan or just a member? If you are then you might actually relate to this topic. Have you seen their splash page where you are asked to make Facebook your homepage? I must say that I am really annoyed by that. They may have included a "SKIP" button but it still is annoying to see every first log during a day, sometimes it is even rampant. I hope they remove it because it is like you have no choice but to make them your homepage if you don't want to be annoyed.

I like Facebook, no I love Facebook. I actually login almost 10x a day just to check on other friends and family back home in Manila. If I want to make them my homepage, I've done that a long time ago but I did not because I don't want to and it is my choice.

Yesterday, I made them my homepage after days of being annoyed by the splash page. After that it went quiet. I thought they won't mind if I don't make them my homepage anymore. Probably it is database driven but after I have removed the homepage and put it back to a blank page - it went back again. Yes! the annoying FB splash! Okay, I guess I'll just have to ignore it and be patient about it.

If some of the staffs are reading this. Can't you just make a floating DIV anywhere the screen (except my profile pic and menus of course) coz it is really annoying and it is not helping at all. You are already famous, no need to be greedy about fame. I already love you guys!

Need Hardware Drivers for Old PCs?

Don't you just hate it when you try to download a driver on the internet and found out that what you have downloaded was a client software to detect hardware specifications and do the downloading for you? Well, I don't hate it IF it trully works but if it doesn't then it is a useless tool. I have been a victim of this thing a few times. They even name the file same as the file you are looking for and it really is very annoying.

For most people who do the maintenance, it is rather annoying finding a lot of website offering the drivers on their website but what they trully offer is trash and junks of client softwares that will be installed in your PC. The worst thing was they don't have a link that says "Uninstall". I hate the fact that it is in my PC, it is residing there yet I can't do anything about it. For people like me who has paranoias and traumatic syndrome from accidental installation of worm viruses -it is very tormenting. I maybe inviting or opening new doors for a new worm virus.

When you really need drivers for you PC, probably old PCs - you can go to Driver Collection's website - they also have new hardware drivers. No, this is not a sponsored article and I don't own that website. I just made this to share my wonderful experience and to support their wonderful service. I just want people to go away from those trash websites after I had a very bad experience from them. If you have other websites to get drivers without risking your machine's security -please do share it too.

With regards to their download, you may have to wait around 20 minutes every download you make since they have limits but it is all worth the wait. They also offer client software that detects your hardware specifications but at least they make it as an option not like other websites that REQUIRES YOU to install it and use it as the downloading agent which really sucks big time. They also have different languages for non-english speaking users.

When I clicked the url, I was sent to another website disguised as Google and even though I was logged in at Gmail, it shows there that I am still not logged-in.

If I wasn't aware of these things I would have logged-in and would have been one of their victims. I reported it to Gmail as phishing mail knowing that they'll reply to me if ever it is true that I've violated such terms or they'll mark it as phishing website.

If ever you have received one and your browser has not distinguished it as phishing mail then I advice you not to visit the link or url. If ever you have opened it already then it's best not to login.

I Like the new Clixsense!

Have you seen the new Clixsense website? I've seen it and I really digged it. Their old website was great already but if you have seen the new one you'll understand how I feel now. It looks great! The design was quite astonishing. There is one great feature that I know all PTC crazed people out there would really like. They have added the Paypal to their options of withdrawal and other cash transactions.

I've just been online for a few minutes and I've already found 13 clix. I can see the positive response from other businesses out there and of course more clix, more money for everyone. Though it felt like a PTC-like experience unlike before which is quite unique but I am not saying I don't like that idea. What I'm just trying to say is that their website before was like unique in its own way, you won't have a feeling you are in a PTC site. The bad thing about PTC experience nowadays is that you'll always have this feeling that someday, in a twinkling of an eye - they could vanish into thin air. But I have a great confidence with Clixsense unlike any other PTCs out there. Who wouldn't? They've been in the PTC business since 2007 and I could say that they should be rewarded for such excellence in the PTC business.

Not even the almighty Neobux or the newcomers can compete them. The fact that they are not selling referrals or renting one may seem discouraging for others but it could only mean that they are serious in their advertising business and not in the business of selling or renting referrals. I can confidently say that they are the most honest PTC business ever made.

After referring 12 people, I have made a breakthrough of having to achieve something out of NOTHING! Yes. I did not spend a buck or even a penny. As a premium member of Social Monkey, I get to see the reports on where my blog article has been posted. I am very glad to see it and I could defenitely say - it was well worth it to be a Premium Member. And also as a free member I can build a total of 100 backlinks per article in 1 day - Yes! that is correct - 1 day.

Just got an update! Even Free members now can get to see reports.

Now I am ready for more backlinks. Now I can also submit 3 URLs a day. I do think that Social Monkee is worth the upgrade for everyone.

What About Daddy Blogs?

I've been browsing the web almost everyday and I've been surfing and blog hopping but only a few Daddy Blogs I found on the web. How about you? Are you a Daddy Blog or just a plain blog. So what defines a Daddy Blog?

First let us see the usual Mommy Blog. It is of course created by a Mom and usually a home-working mom. Well, I think usually Mom blogs are usually about earning money on the web online, parenting, cooking, taking care of children and household activities, etc... Well my Baul ni Noel blog comprised of something like that too - so should it be considered a Daddy blog or Dad Blogs (or a Mommy Blog lol!).

Sod guys! Any Dad out there? It's not about battle of the sexes. Maybe it is because most men bloggers are tech blogs, SEO blogging, cars, sports, etc... The great thing about the mom blogs are the blogs are mostly attached or well connected to other mom blogs without even competing against each other. Maybe alpha males tend NOT to associate themselves with other alpha males - they'd rather stick with other mom blogs. Maybe it's the way men are - is it?

Anyways, this is just a pigment of my imagination and I just want to admire mom blogs that help each other in making a community and having one common goal - help each other in blog popularity for their very own purposes.

My friend showed me a couple of video clips by this crazy guy named Freddie Wong (crazy good ah). Actually, he is awesome! He (they) did a lot of cool videos that is fun to watch and very entertaining. And since I used to be a shooting game fanatic before (Counter Strike and Rainbow Six), I immediately super-liked this video clip. You can go and check the rest of his videos and see what I mean.

Google Cuts Down Content Farms for Quality SEO

Google has revelaed their new ranking algorithm which most probably hit lots of website's or blog's ranking. They promise to have a better search query result with their new algorithms resulting a big hit on publisher's optimizations. Now, using your keyword as often as possible to gain higher SEO rank will most likely be useless.

To put their equation in simple terms, here is a simple example:

Your blog Title: Top Dental Clinics in Sta. Mesa

Related Keywords: dentist, dental, clinic, dentistry, teeth .....

You get the picture? So if the keywords you used are related to your content's title then most likely your article will be considered a quality work. Of course, original work is still in their equation.

To content farmer publishers, this will be a loss for their rankings but for most publishers this is a good news. This could mean a great cut down on some of competitions on ranking. I remember there is an issue before that most publishers complain where a 5 page website/blog can rank high in search engines.

So to all fellow bloggers, if you are into SEO blogging, this will be a bit more of a challenge but the great thing is the odds have been leveled. So lets do our best.

Understanding Chitika

A few days ago, I've joined Chitika to have a feel and to check if I am going to earn more from them than Google's Adsense. Chitika and Adsense are currently battling over which is the better Affiliate Marketing for all publishers, of course adsense has a lot to offer but sometimes great opportunities come from small things.

One thing I have noticed about Chitika ads is that they are not using my topic as basis for its advertisement. Instead of using my sites current topic that the user is viewing, it is using the users previous searches which is I think is good since the user could have probably gone to my site accidentally. I tried to experiment and made a new search at Google and then went back to one of my articles, refresh the page and found my previous search offered on their widget – COOL!

Though it is important to have an advertisement that is related to your current topic, I find their method in choosing the ads much more strategic than of Adsense (atleast for me). You’ll get much more higher sales from what your readers if you offer them what they want, right? I am still new to Chitika but I think I am loving it already. It is a good thing Adsense and Chitika are compatible to each other.

This is just my opinion since Adgitize is giving traffic from different niches everyday so I really think Chitika is a great option for me. I'll try to experiment for the meantime and probably turn-off my adsense here at xleontips and use Chitika. I'll inform you people which is performing better in sales.

Update: Okay, I've tried it again but this time it is not working the same way as my observation above. I think the Chitika ad isn't updating at all, even according to my search. What's happening now is that the first article title I've clicked is show to me over and over again while I am on that same page. Now, I am confuse hmmmm... Let's see what happens next.

Is your Blog Readable?

I always value how my readers find my blog, be it negative or positive that is why whenever I post an article, I make sure it is well understood by my readers. So the question is, how readable is your blog? Do people understand your blog? If you write your articles with very complex words then people who will most likely subscribe to your blog would be adults and most probably highly educated (eg. online newspapers) but if you make it very simple and quite clear then you'll have a much more wider audience.

I always thought that having so much complex words in your blog is not very important as long as you can deliver your message very clearly and direct to the point.

I also think that when SEO Blogging, most searched keywords are very simple words like earn, money, investment, income, etc... So making your website or blog's article as simple and as clear as possible will very much likely earn you reputation to Google's search engine which is a great benefit to you in increasing traffic (visitors).

My Adsense and Adwords Adventure!

I remember when I received my free $100 Adwords credit. Since then, I realized the value of terms SEO (Search Engine Optimization), PR (PageRank), backlinks, etc... It was a very thrilling experience for me and I have Google to thank for that. Excitement fill my day everytime I visit my Adsense. One time, I got depressed over a click which costed about $16 (just one lousy click!) - that was for using their automatic setting. It was a price you have to pay in order to learn this stuffs especially Affiliate Marketing with Google Adsense.

That time reading books about SEO really helped me in my SEO Blogging and Google Adwords keyword tool really helped me as well in finding the best keyword that I should be using and finding the best landing page.

No, this is not mine (I hope it is - lol!)

I remember I tried lowering the Maximum CPCs to the lowest and got nothing out of it. I thought my efforts are not really working. I tried raising my maximum cpc (sorry, I forgot my max cost). This time I got visitors about 2o I think and I was alerted by Adwords keywords saying that I am using my keywords efficiently and saying that I have to raise my maximum advertisement per day budget. I did not do as they said coz I don't want to loose all the money in just a few days and I am glad I did that. So instead, I played with my maximum cpc per keyword. I can honestly tell you that is the thrilling part.

I remember reading an article saying to let your keywords be "familiar to Google" before you lower its maximum cpc, so that is what I did. I raised my max cpc and then lowered it after a few days (3 days I think) then to my amazement - I got a huge traffic! Imagine for a lower max cpc with the same budget, you'll get more visitors of course. After a few days, I lowered it again and was amazed of its result - huge traffic! You should see my expression when I saw the reports.

After using the free $100 Adwords free credit, I was able to gather back $21 back to my Adsense which I think is not good BUT the fun part is, I've experienced it for free and gained a few bucks for it. I think if they gave me a $1000 free I might be able to double it in a few months. Right now, I don't have that much luxury but surely I'll try to experience it next time with my own money.

Yearning, Learning and Earning is the GOAL!

When crisis hits us, we find ways to overcome it and as much as possible if we can do it in the comforts of our home – we try it (atleast most of IT or unemployed mom does). I’ve been yearning to do that I think five years ago but I always end up scammed or rejected. Here are the list of the things I’ve tried:

MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) – most people know of this as ponzi scheme and only people on top wins which is usually the management or the business itself. In my opinion, I don’t find it bad if the company is selling goods and there is no problem if they benefit to it since it is their business. I can only consider it bad if there are no goods or product that is being sold.

If you are good at sales and have a lot of friends who potentially may join you – it will be beneficial to you. This scheme requires helping one another (in your tree or network of course) especially if your underlings (that’ what I call referrals or downlines) can’t find downline of their own. It will be your sale anyways and both of you will benefit from it – it is called spillover or downline of your downline but your direct sale.

Hey I even tried offline MLMs where there is product to sell (Edmark in KSA-Jeddah, First Quadrant in Philippines) but none of them made me successful in making income. GDI or Global Domains International is one of the online MLM that I am talking about, I’ve tried it and I was able to find 3 downlines but I wasn’t able to succeed because it took a lot of my time. I still think it is a good MLM and if ever I don’t have a job and have a lot of time in my hand – I’d do it again. Risk for this program is high because there are a lot of scam MLMs out there

Money Cyclers – they are also called Matrix programs. Basically, you don’t need to sell anything here. You can just promote your referral link and if someone joins – you’ll earn a direct sale but if not – you’ll still benefit because the more people that are joining this program the more chances of you turn to come and make a cycle. After you cycle, it is up to you if you want to re-invest your money or just take it back but most of this programs have a minimum withdrawal amount so if you haven’t reached that amount – you still can’t have your money. The only option for you then would be to re-invest it. Risk for this program is also high because of scams.

HYIP (High Yield Investment Program) – this is the most risky of all business on the internet. There is absolutely 99% scam HYIPs on the internet. Before you can even ROI (Return of Investment) they’ll vanish into thin air. There are a few HYIPs I joined where I got my money and the interest but none of them really stayed long and became scams or just closed without a warning.

Forex (Foreign Exchange) - no, I did not join any of this program because it requires a big amount of investment. That is a risk I am not willing to take.

GPT (Get Paid To) / PTC (Pay to Click) – are some of the programs on the internet that is quite taking a huge interest in most people. I have a lot of successful programs where I have earned great amount of money. Currently, there are numbers of honest paying on my list and I even have list of those PTCs that paid.

Bux.to – this is scam already but I’ve earned big time from them before.
Neobux - they are still paying.
Intoffers - this is the oldest PTC I’ve joined with and they are still paying me with honesty.

Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing is one of the best online marketing programs ever made available to internet entrepreneurs. Affiliate marketing is a win-win situation where the manufacturer will be able to receive as many website visitors because there are many affiliates that will lead customers to his website. On the other hand, the affiliate is going to receive handsome commission by leading customers to the manufacturers website. Farewell SEO and PR Study Blog

I have decided to totally delete my other blog SEO and PR Study blog at wordpress. It's not because I have learned it already. I have learned a lot by studying about SEO and PR but the reason I am deleting it is because my time is almost spent in two of my other blogs which is this one and my Baul.

I am grateful that my Baul earned an award which I think should also be rewarded with its own domain. After I have finished with it's new layout that I am currently designing, I'll probably update it's layout and then grab the dot.com. I am almost finish with it but something came up again - a new layout in my mind just popped out. Now, I am torn between the two layouts. The first one is kinda heavy because I've designed it with jQuery and the second one is kinda simple.

Now, that I am thinking about deleting SEO and PR Studies blog, I might delete my Omnia 2 blog as well. I've fallen out of love of my windows mobile phone which is really a pain in my neck. The camera is busted once again. Atleast with SEO and PR studies blog, I just might transfer some of my articles from there to this blog but with my Omnia 2 - I'll totally trash the whole blog or probably grap a few informative articles - if there are any.

With these two out of the way, I'll be maintaining 3 blogs in total and 2 websites + 2 upcoming sites (work related). So that's it for now.

The great thing about having a blog at Blogger is that all the pictures you post are hosted in one site, Picasa. You need not worry about creating a new account. If you have a gmail email address and have a blog at Blogger then you certainly have a Picasa account.

So how do I access my Picasa account using my Google account?

You can go to Picasa.com and login using your Gmail account. If it is your first time to use Picasa then just follow the instructions on how you setup your Picasa. It’s quite easy.

Here are the steps to create a slideshow.

Prepare your photos or images. If you want to resize the image from their original big size then please do so. You’ll be able to save time and space if you do that. Free members have a 1024MB or 1GB storage capacity so make use of that space, wisely.
After logging in, you’ll see tabs that say My Photos, People and Explore. Just right after that is a button which says “Upload”. Yes, click on it.
It is best that you create a new album and name it accordingly.
Now, upload the photos/images.
After uploading all what you need. You can take time and make captions for your pictures. It is actually optional but if you must then use that feature.
To make sure you are on the right folder, click the Picasa logo and you’ll be sent to the main page which shows the folders or albums you have. Click on the album you desire to make a slideshow.
Look at the right corner of the page you will see an image which looks like a chain and has the words “Links to this album”. Click it and more options will be made available to you.
You should be seeing the URL for email and the html code for inserting the album on other websites. Just below that, you’ll see “Embed Slideshow”. Click on it.
After clicking it, a box will appear which shows a preview of the slideshow. There are also options of the size of the slideshow you wish to create and other options such as showing captions, autoplay, HTML Links and the code that you should be copying and pasting on your post (for blogs). Choose desire options and then copy the HTML code.
In order for the HTML code to work, you should be editing your blog article in code view or in html view.
Paste the code on a post on any of your blogs. It supports any blogs.

A friend told me of a new online job. They are paying articles by categories of 250-words / 500-words. There are some articles that are worth 0.004/word and 0.005/word. Hope they approve of my application, since it is an extra income online for me. I've sent 2 (250 word) articles already with 2 phrase keywords.

After the success of Android OS on most PDA devices that have been launched recently, more and more devices have been recently sprouted like mushrooms. While browsing some pages, I found a few advertisements regarding Tablet PCs with Android operating system that just hit the market. If you go to Light in the Box's website at http://www.lightinthebox.com, you may find a few tablet pcs ranging from $149-$210 - that is super cheap.

I saw those ads just this morning and while I was browsing tonight, I happen to stumble upon this news about a launching of a $35 Tablet PC with an Android operating system. Okay, before you wet your pants of excitement, I'd like you to know that it will only be a prototype and this prototype will be revealed on January 10, 2011 - a few weeks from now. Manufacturing of the product will be in India and will be launched there.

I already made a brief review of how anyone can Take Advantage of EntreCard from my other website but I'll make another one --okay, this is to grab the Freebie 5000 credits from EC - it is actually a contest but they claimed that everyone is a winner just by making a review. But this doesn't mean that it'll affect my review.

Here are some of my great experiences with EntreCard:

Real Traffic - yes, what I really like about EC is the real traffic it brings my website and it's not just a traffic, the people who will eventually visit you will come from the same niche as you are.
Free Ads - now here is a great way to advertise your website for free. Check our the campaigns and look for the niches that your site is related to.
PageRank - this could pretty well increase your backlinks and increase friends of the same niche or category. Remember, having a backlink from a website with the same category as yours will give your site boost in PR.
Toolbar - download their toolbar (for Firefox) and make your EC surfing easier. Note: drop on the blogs/sites of the same category to gain possible viewers of the same interest as yours. Get more tips from others and probably gain more readers - I know coz most of my favorite blogs are from EC.
Cheap Ads - if you want to advertise on all the blogger who has EC then you could be on for treats. I don't have an exact idea of how many users are registered at EC but from the looks of it --they have hundred thousands and they will all view your advertisement.

Now, what are the disadvantages?

Well it seems to me that most EC users would want to make money out of their EC credits. I've tried checking usages for EC but I didn't find anything to do with exchanging credits to money. I've seen a few who sells by bulk and I think it is good if you drop a lot or get lots of advertisement and able to accumulate a lot of credits per day. I guess it is still an advantage if you do make a lot of credits per day.

So far that is the only negative thing I find about EntreCard. I'll be advertising with them soon as I receive my payout from other online businesses. The Adwords Adventure

At last I am using the Adwords and using the voucher I got from Google, I draw my first few keywords. It wasn't an easy task. The reason I have not started before is I wanted the landing page to my advertisements clear and presentable and as much as possible --very clear.

I did a lot of re-phrasing on my keywords and made a few research. My time is quite limited right now because of my son's condition. He's sick so whenever he is asleep and my wife is on duty - I take my time to study about it. Right now, my spare time is quite divided as well --Adgitizing, EC Dropping, CMFAds spiking and a lot more others so a few time has been given to my Adwords studying.

I never knew finding the right keywords for Adwords is not easy. Actually, it is easy but the only trouble I get is the Average CPC that is calculated to the keywords I used is quite expensive. One keyword I tried gave me a tentative (Saudi Riyals)SR11.20/click ($2) --and it is just one click (No wonder Google is so rich now). With my daily maximum Budget of SR25 per advertisement I could only get 2 clicks from it which means I have to find different keywords. If you don't know the meaning of those terms (average CPC, maximum daily Budget), you can go to Adwords or Google it --it is quite complicated for me to explain right now (sorry).

Can you see what I am trying to do here? Yes, I am trying to stretch the money that was given to me to the point that before I loose that money --I have learned a lot already. I guess that is the very purpose Google gave away Adwords coupon --for us to learn how to make use of it for our benefit. Well, this is a great experience.

One great thing happened though. One of my advertisement gave me a few hits and it cost me around $0.06 and for that I've earned $0.18 at my Adsense so which means I am doing good for start but the only problem is, there is less traffic in the keywords I've chosen.

The last resort I did is to make a new advertisement and making the average CPC automatic and made my maximum daily Budget to SR25, It could have less clicks but let us see. I want to see what happens maybe it is not that bad --anyway I'm using a free money from them so I've got nothing to loose.

I remember I used to login to Clixsense just to be disappointed to see no available advertisement or Clix. But hey, there is a fun, informative and very easy way of monitoring new Clix. After I have installed the ClixSense toolbar, I was able to click 5-10 clix a day. I remember not receiving any for a day --and I have to login first before I could see if there is none or atleast a few to click.

CSS Menu Integration - Successful!

At last, I was able to integrate my menu. While doing the customized menu I have realized that I still have lots of things to do to all my previous articles and that includes re-tagging. I've seen some scattered categories which would be helpful if I have made a proper tag for them.

So for now, this will do good for everyone's navigation. Now it is much easier to navigate through this blog. I am still trying to blend the menu and make it really presentable but after working for 3 hours, I think I'll have my zzzz's. The coffee effect is starting to wear off and I still have to go to work tomorrow.

It was a very tedious task but thank God I made it alive -I wish there is some other easier way to do it. There is also a new project for me, I hope I can do blogging and the other project at the same time. I probably won't be blog hopping for a few days.

Ever Dreamt of This?

I remembered a friend who showed me a video of a laptop being thrown, dropped, run-down by a jeep, spilled water and coffee but when they opened the laptop -it was still intact. That was almost 13 years and the laptop is a heavy duty made by Dell. It is not just an advertising --it is full of truth. I told myself, I am going to have a laptop just like that someday and up to now I still don't have that laptop.

But what really made me remember DELL was this advertisement. I can't believe that this is trully a laptop --I still don't believe it by the way. I think this is just a joke or something but if it is true then it is one hell of a laptop.

Before anything else I would like to thank all those who have joined, sponsored and at least tried to join. First of all let me tell you about the birthday celebrant's gift and how she celebrated her special day.

By the way, her birthday isn't actually at the end of the month -it is on Sept. 10, I just made it up to end of the month so people can prepare more and I can gather more sponsors. I was actually very busy this past September because of my offline responsibilities.

Sadly, her birthday didn't quite went well because she was very sick before and after her birthday. It took about 3 weeks before she fully recovered but I am glad to say she is doing great now. The day of her birthday we were in a ward and she was on IV (it is forbidden for her to take injections so she took her medicine through dextrose but it wasn't very serious). She is happy now and doing the regular things she does and she's even back on her job. So here is her birthday gift.

She is not a gadget freak or techie girl but she requested it so instead of thinking what to give her - I gave her what she wants.

And since her birthday is the same as our church's anniversary and our friends are preparing food for the coming anniversary, we went to the church and brought the food we prepared. I cooked Palabok for her and I helped her cook Ginataang Bola-bola (Halo-halo) and cooked some Palitaw. We are in Saudi Arabia and it is not very often people get to taste these foods --all at once so they were pretty excited about the food we prepared. They loved my Palabok --of course it was prepared for my love one and one of its ingredient is my love (lol!). Sadly, my wife didn't eat much that time because she's not feeling well but still she's still very happy because we are there for her. After she recovered, I cooked another batch of Palabok just for her and finally savored it.

I also bought a cake for her.

So that's it. I feel sorry for her for being sick during her birthday but she assured me that she is very happy not because of the gift --but because of the presence of the two most important man in her life -me and our son.

This is great news for me. I just got a $100 Google Adsense coupon from Google. I am so excited --I don't know what to do. Now, I really have to make my place presentable for my visitors. I have to make this place neat and of course make a wise decision in choosing the right keywords. I know what you are thinking. "What kind of messed-up theme do I have here?"
Well, I am trying to re-design my site as part of my SEM (Search Engine Marketing) which is having a nice blog layout.

I am still trying out styles which is kinda difficult. But hey! Atleast after I am finished with the redesigning I'll be able to come-up with a better idea on my next theme for my other blog. I know there is a big space on top but it is part of the plan -don't worry guys.

The new blog will feature a new CSS styled menu plus banners on the cool places. The upgraded header will optimize my site and to remove some other widgets to make the loading much faster and of course to attract more people (I hope).

Priorities!

These past few months I have been so very disoriented in terms of priorities. All I could think of is to learn a lot of things, but to learn which one first is the question. Which is next? and what I should to in order to learn those things on my list.

I also want to earn more income from online businesses but it has been years and I still don't have a very solid online business where I can get a residual income. I have a great idea however but it will take more than an idea - my skills as a programmer will be tested and will eventually be of use for my personal gain.

I have already made primary actions, layout and design and database structure but I am still studying the market. I may have made initial designs but a lot of ideas keep coming and it sometimes hurt my initial implementations. Just right now an idea came to my mind again - it is difficult but it is all possible. This program I am planning requires me to satisfy both publishers and advertisers (no, it is not an advertising agent or ad network like Adgitize). I can't tell - it is a secret project.

Okay, I am quite tired now. I just want to let out things in my head while it is still there. I have a diary right here with me with 4 pages full already - no it's not like your daily diaries (it's my project diary).

Ideas funneled and documented - thanks for your time Blogger! (I really need to organize things) I'll read this again tomorrow and probably laugh at myself. Let's see - I won't even re-read this so forgive me.

How NOT to Attract Readers!

This is the type of article that I really am very good at "NOT attracting" readers (lol!).

It is true that articles or contents with interesting topics attract a lot of readers but what others fail to realize is that even if you have a very good content but you have a very slow blog - your potential readers could be one of the addition to your bounce rates. Bounce Rate is a terminology found in Google Analytics wherein it shows the rate of people "bouncing" at your site - which means once they set foot on your landing page they immediately look for the "X" button or wait for the Adgitize buttons to appear and hop on to other sites as fast as they can. They literally want to bounce out of your site as fast as they can.

It is a common mistake for bloggers, specially newbies - and I had my share too. Others over-decorate their site and forgot about how their readers feel. Instead of attracting readers - they're actually frightening them. Would you like to wait for five minutes in order for a page to fully load all its initial contents?

Isn't it frustrating that an article of your interest takes a lot of time to load and almost take all the bandwidth? As for me, when googling around for a research and found an interesting article on the search - I click on it. But once it took a lot of time to load the information, I click the "X" and look for another topic on the indexed search - and I've done it a lot of times.

Blogging is fun and adding a few bits and pieces of widgets to decorate your blog could be taking too much of your time and will probably make it look like it was designed haphazardly. Having a very nice layout and design for your site attracts a lot of readers but too much is always harmful.

Found a Very Promising Home-Business: What Say You?

I have found a great Home-business and a Network Marketing program which is really something. In this business (like they told people), taking risk is important and that risk is called investing. But the great thing about it is, you need only 1 person in order to have your investment back plus you’ll have a monthly residual income from that downline which is a break even already. Take note, you will be receiving your ROI in your account in Paypal, Alertpay, etc.. and not in the account of the program.

Their products are wide variety of high-quality e-books and you can download it. No, it is not GDI (Global Domains International) but they also offer an Residual Income for Life. More e-books are added every month for all their subscribers.

I am researching more details if they are scam or not and so far I haven’t found a single article which pertains that they are scam - all are testimonies. I haven’t join yet because the cost of initial investment is $100 – call me cheap but $100 is not an easy money earned in online businesses. But $100 is actually cheaper than the amount of investment I did for my PTC which scammed me eventually. Anyways, once I get my first downline I am at ROI already and all the investments will be my time --unlike PTCs I’ve joined which I remembered to be a painful clicking every day. Neobux may not be a scam but it is hard finding refs right now so investing their would be more than risky than this new business I found.

How about you? Are you willing to invest/risk $100 to a business which you think has a very good marketing scheme? By the way it is not a ponzi scheme since there is a product that is being sold. I will reveal their marketing scheme and the company once I am convinced that they are not scam. I have already searched first 4 pages of the Google and no scam reports yet.

By the way, their system is designed even for no brainers or no knowledge in selling at all. Up to now, all I’ve seen in the Youtube videos were payment-proof and no scams. Let’s see, I’ll try to investigate further . I am thinking of building a Filipino team for this - but I'll do that once I've proven their system works or if there are some who are willing to take the risk out there.

Only thing I could promise you is if you see their Marketing Scheme - you'll wet your pants lol!

Firefox 4 Beta: A Quick Glance

To all Firefox lovers out there Firefox 4 is out and is currently on its Beta version. I am a Firefox lover but I am not into it for now, I have lots of plugin for my current version that I am using right now which would probably not work on the new version. Okay let's take a few glance on its new features:

The new Firefox comes with a new Mac / Win7 interface which is quite dazzling. Click the image below to enlarge it.

As you can see,the TAB placement has been changed as well which is for me - looks great.

They're also bragging about its new key features like the Stay in Sync where you can customize your browsers settings and save it in a USB device so you can have the same settings where ever you go. By the way, this includes your passwords (quite scary if you are careless).

You can even organize your tabs. I don\t usually have a use for this since I don't like browsing so many sites at the same time. I'll probably use this once I upgrade the speed of my internet.
Manage you add-ons is still in there, but the put a small icon on one of Firefox's tab for easy access.
